EN: Sylvia Jones was born in 1972 in Knokke-Heist. As a child, she was already fascinated by photography. After a classical education she was a portrait photographer for 23 years for clients that reached far beyond Belgium. A few years ago she decided to devote herself to a more artistic type of photography in which she had more creative and mental freedom. Sylvia Jones is married to photographer and Hasselblad-Master Tom D. Jones. 

She quotes:

My artistic practice is deeply rooted in faith.

Through my images, I seek to create moments of stillness that invite people to pause, feel, and look beyond what is immediately visible. In a world filled with noise and distraction, I want my work to gently reconnect us with what is essential.

My faith in God is at the heart of my creative process.
I am inspired by the peace, beauty, and deep sense of joy that can grow from trust, surrender, acceptance, and connection with Him. 
I believe He has a plan for every single one of us and that His love for us is beyond imagination.
Through light, simplicity and emotion, I try to translate something of that inner experience into a visual language.

I hope my work opens a door, awakening awareness, touching something deeper within the viewer and perhaps bringing them closer to God, back to the only Source, where faith and trust can illuminate even the most unexpected miracles in our lives.

For me, art is a way of sharing hope, gratitude, and faith and of revealing the beauty and meaning that can be found beyond what we can see.

NL: Sylvia Jones werd geboren in 1972 in Knokke-Heist. Als kind al was zij gefascineerd door fotografie. Na een klassieke opleiding was ze 23 jaar lang portretfotografe met een trouw cliënteel die ver buiten België reikte. Een aantal jaren geleden besliste ze om zich toe te leggen op artistieke fotografie waarin ze meer creatieve en mentale vrijheid had. Sylvia Jones is gehuwd met fotograaf en Hasselblad-Master Tom D. Jones. Samen met hem reist ze veel naar Afrika, waar hij een project over wildlife fotografeert. Daar komt ze ook echt tot rust.
